It is so satisfying and special to take one family heirloom and create two pieces to be shared between siblings. After Emily's father passed away, her brother gave her a tie pin that had belonged to him. Emily was drawn to the boat motif, as a talisman for moving through a difficult time. We very carefully removed the boat charm from the tie pin and set it into a gold medallion. We added two diamonds from a pair of studs, and one petite sourced diamond to create the feeling of a night sky.
The original tie pin was polished up and engraved with their father's initials to return to her brother.
