About Heirloom Gold

Melting gold to create a new piece of jewelry roots us in our craft. For as long as there has been gold jewelry, every precious scrap and speck of gold has been melted into new pieces time and time again.

Typically in our process, we group recycle gold and pass along the credit for your original settings towards the cost of your project. However, if the gold material itself is sentimental to you, we offer a highly specialized process of alloying your gold individually to create your new piece from your own recycled material.

Heirloom Gold FAQs

Can I use my own gold to create new jewelry?

Yes! It depends a bit on the design you select, but we can typically melt and alloy your gold to use in your project. We reserve this very specialized offering for projects where the gold itself is extremely sentimental.

Alternatively, our typical process is to group recycle your gold with gold from our other clients and offer you a credit towards your invoice.

How do I get started?

We typically begin with a phone consultation to talk about your jewelry and your style. We'll review photos of your jewelry and brainstorm about what new pieces we could create from your materials for you to enjoy everyday. There is no cost for the consultation. After your consultation, we'll send you a proposal with complete designs, descriptions, and pricing for what we would recommend!

What is gold credit?

We are always happy to re-use and recycle your precious metals as much as possible during your renovation project. If you have an excess of precious metals (gold or platinum) we can recycle those and apply a credit towards your project. Most of our clients recycle gold with us to reduce their total project cost. This credit gets applied to your final invoice.

What does “custom” really mean?

We specialize in creating custom jewelry from unique, heirloom, inherited, and sentimental materials. Every piece is designed around your specific materials.

Working this way allows us to creatively approach each project to produce a higher quality of jewelry. It also allows us to fit each piece perfectly to your body.

While we offer designs at a variety of price points, please note that custom jewelry is typically more costly than jewelry that is created in mass production.
