A Bit About Cufflink & Tie Clip Renovations

Cufflinks tend to be matching, geometric, and perfectly sized to become stud earrings. They were one of our first renovation projects and became a go-to style in our studio.

The same qualities that make a tie clip or cufflinks appealing on a suit can make them extremely well suited to becoming another piece of fine jewelry. Subtle textures, cabochon gemstones, and low-profiles are all common design motifs for these pieces.

Cufflink & Tie Clip Jewelry Renovation FAQs

How do I get started?

We typically begin with a phone consultation to talk about your jewelry and your style. We'll review photos of your jewelry and brainstorm about what new pieces we could create from your materials for you to enjoy everyday. There is no cost for the consultation. After your consultation, we'll send you a proposal with complete designs, descriptions, and pricing for what we would recommend!

Can I schedule an in-person consultation at your NYC studio?

We like to start with a preliminary consultation phone call to understand what you're looking for and make sure we're the right fit for the project. We've found our phone appointments to be a very focused and effective format.

Once we have a bit of clarity and direction, you're welcome to visit in-person at our Flatiron NYC studio for any followup questions, and to drop off your materials with us. We're always happy to arrange that!

What does it cost to renovate jewelry?

We price each custom project individually and present complete pricing with our proposals. Costs vary depending on the type of piece, labor, complexity, and materials involved in your project.

Many of our projects are in the $1500-$6000 range. We have beautiful design concepts under $1500 if you are open to suggestions. We can apply the value of any extra gold or platinum from your original materials towards the cost of your project.
