Heirloom Gold Ingot Charm

$1,530

The sweetest gold charm. Transform your heirloom gold into a personal, wearable talisman.

The organic shape follows the natural profile of the jeweler's ingot mold we pour your molten gold into. An organic edge and surface imperfections reflect both the use of your raw heirloom gold and this ancient goldsmithing technique. One side of the charm is a bit rounder, and the other is slightly flatter. Both sides may be engraved.

One classic wedding band or two smaller bands supply the perfect amount of gold, approximately 3–4 grams (and if you don't have the perfect amount that's ok!). The charm is approximately 10-12mm in size. The alloy will match your original gold (14k,18k, etc) unless you request otherwise.

Pricing anticipates inclusion of your 3-4g of sentimental gold. Allow 4-8 weeks for production.

Heirloom Gold Ingot FAQs

What if I want a different gold color from my original gold?

This charm is made by directly melting your gold into the crucible, so it's not possible for us to switch from white gold to yellow gold for example. However, we can credit you for your gold and make this from our in-house 14 or 18kt gold. Just add a note when you order.

What kinds of gold can be melted for jewelry?

Plain gold bands, ingots, and pure gold coins are ideal for melting because they tend to contain few impurities. Most fine jewelry in 14k, 18k, 22k, or 24k can be worked with, though we may need to remove small sections of solder in some cases. Chain is not ideal because typically there are too many solder points. When you place your order, we can review the gold you'd like to use and help you to assess which items are best.

What if I don't have the right amount of gold?

Not enough? We can add in-house gold to supplement the gold you send and adjust the pricing accordingly. It's no problem!
Too much? We can either credit you for the rest of the gold or return it to you with your completed charm. Up to you!
